Mrs. Karen Lashley
I graduated from Choctaw High School in 1985. My college alma mater is Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and also have an endorsement for 7th-8th Grade Language Arts.
I have attended many Great Expectations summer workshops in addition to the Professional Development provided by our district. I have also attended several training sessions in Cooperative Learning by Dr. Spencer Kagan.
I began my teaching career in the Harrah School District in 2000. I taught 2nd grade at Clara Reynolds for 6 years, then worked as the Title I Math Teacher at Russell Babb for 7 years. I moved to the Middle School to teach 6th and 7th grade Math in 2013, followed by a year of 7th grade Language. I’ve also been a 4th grade Reading/Language Arts teacher. In 2019 I switched to 4th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies. It has been a joy to get to know so many students over the years. My favorite thing about teaching is "seeing the light come on" when a student gains understanding of a new concept.
All 4 of my children graduated from Harrah schools. In May 2013, I married Gary Lashley. We currently live in Edmond, OK with our 2 spoiled dogs. I have 2 grandkids that also live in Edmond.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, trying new recipes, and watching movies. My favorite vacation destination is the beach.
